i asked this the other day but didn't get an answer...

why don't they just mould the cricket ball out of one substance and make them untamperable?

It really can't be that hard to find a synthetic material that has the same weight as cork and leather, can it?

I suppose what bowlers want is the speed of a new ball but the spin of an old ball, so why not have two balls available, one smooth, one a bit rough, and tell the bowlers they can change every 20 overs or something.
