Not his record first time around
McCarthy managed to get a team to the play-offs, ship out the deadwood, rebuild in a season with limited funds and a bunch of lower league buys and win the league despite massive debts. Then he could only go out and spend what little he had to try and survive in the top flight.
Compared to that to Worthy and I think you'll find McCarthy win's hands down
