I think it was a pretty weird red card

I can only guess that he thought Rooney stamped deliberately (which I don't). But he gave no indication he was going to send him off, until the push happened....maybe that made his mind up for him?

Or maybe, as someone else said on here, he had a chat with his assistant about the stamp.

Either way, I still think he made a mistake.
