i used to have bad sinusitis

then twigged that the cause was aircon in the car as it was a recurring warmer weather issue. hardly ever have the aircon on now and the problem has gone.

i'm thinking of selling this as a future plot line to the producers of the hit fox network tv series "House" where an irascible hugh laurie will say to his patient..

"you’ve had six rounds of antibiotics, two ENTs poking around your skull, and enough nasal spray to embalm a horse… and yet here you are, still miserable.”

House leans on his cane, eyeing the patient like a piece of dog dirt on his brogues.

"chronic sinusitis is supposed to respond to treatment. yours doesn't. which means either the bacteria are unionized… or you keep re-infecting yourself."

the patient shifts. "I clean my house. I changed my pillows and pillowcases to allergen freee ones. I even farmed out my cat."

House smirks. "congratulations. You abandoned a beloved house pet and kept the real culprit."

House tosses a set of car keys onto the desk.

"your car’s air conditioning system. damp, dark, never cleaned. mold heaven. every morning you inhale a microscopic fungal rave on your commute.”

The patient blinks. "my… car?"

House shrugs. "yep, unless your sinuses enjoy spontaneous self-sabotage."

"get your AC system disinfected. replace the cabin filter and stop marinating your face in mold spores."

House turns away, and then fires back...

"hey, and get your cat back. at least it didn’t try to kill you."
