The issue is in midfield

Which I keep saying and said last season too.

The most basic way to stop the opposition creating chances is to stop them having the ball, and if they do have the ball, keep them out of dangerous areas.

We've been poor at both elements of that, and it's not on the defenders.

Yes, there have been some errors made in defence too, but that is inevitable when any team ends up under the level of pressure we expose ourselves to in games such as that cov away performance
