The only reason that it entered into the politics thread was that BR decided to include gender views in his sudden random attacks on shoddy (so bizarre – shodster is a lovely member of this forum), and called concerns about men in women’s sport “such a weird right wing trope”. I could have let that pass but as I say, it really riles me.

You call “trans women are women” just “sloganeering”, but it’s far more dangerous that that. It became literal government policy in Scotland and might have done in England with Labour’s win had Starmer not changed his mind about it (in 2022 he said that “trans women are women” was both his view and the law, which is slightly worrying for a former DPP!). It wasn’t a straw man: it was actually happening.

Anyway, apologies for using aggressive shorthand (which you’re right, I was using) and big love to you and yours.
