If the team isn't performing, different ideas need trying. Look at Man Utd this year when Ferguson brought Saha in, it wasn't popular with anyone at OT, unless fans remembered Saha at Fulham to know how good he was

Within 5 games or so, Saha was the new darling of Old Trafford and suddenly Van Nistlerooy didn't play in the carling cup final. Now RVN is the enemy of Man Utd and the fans

As much as it looks a bad idea to drop either Beckham or Cole, you'll never know how much good it will do. Continuing the safety net of "and then I thought maybe it was a bad idea" hasn't helped France when they've picked Zidane
