I'd contest that. Society is far more liberal now than ever before. Gay rights, trans rights, diverse population, civil liberties improved, environment cared about more, social justice improved, more awareness of inequality and contempt for it. The UK has shifted leftwards not rightwards. Tories arent Tories anymore, just charlatans. Labour don't even know what they stand for. No surprise that they are losing votes left right and centre.
