Not according to a couple of my spurs mates

I have watched a number of times and they go every week and we all agree that he tries to be the playmaker, but he doesnt act as a defensive barrier whatsoever.

He doesnt make tackles and he doesnt protect the back four. If you want someone to do that then carrick isnt the man for the job.
