It’s not easy but there are ways

As GOBB says pumped hydro is an option but has limited geographical application. Demand response has a role to play. Bigger grids can help balance demand and supply. Batteries and salt etc can provide short term storage. Seasonal long term storage is a bigger challenge but hydrogen or ammonia might be a future solution.

There are grids that run on 100% renewable at the moment but they tend to be quite hydro dependent.

Also, the fundamental point is that if we keep burning fossil fuels the planet may become uninhabitable. If you accept that premise then building 100% renewable grids isn’t optional, it’s a necessity.
