It's a hard situation when what you've got is pretty decent

in many objective ways, but for whatever reason, the hope of something better is missing.

From where we are, there aren't any quick, easy improvements that can be made. As compared to if we were really badly run / had a rubbish manager / had lots of cash to improve the squad.
