And Smith referred to him coming back in good shape pre-season too. Strange handling of the situation if he didn't want to play for us.

Or he was out of form in the first 3 games and Smith bombed him out of the squad which hastened his departure. The Ramsey loan timing seems to fit the timeline as his replacement. But they're different players and we've lost a contracted player needlessly.
