I've started doing some English zoom sessions with a Ukrainian who's living in Norwich with her child and wants to improve her English. I feel so much for them. She really wants to be back at home with her husband and her cat. She wants to visit England as a tourist - not a refugee. It's heart breaking and baffling that this is happening.

I'm muddling along as I have no TEFL training. English is an absolutely bonkers language to explain at times. For example we use 'very' and 'really' to intensify our words but I've worked out, only 'really' can modify verbs - which explains why saying 'I very thank you' sounds wrong!
