I bought all the ingredients for the cheat version in Waitrose and the nice checkout lady asked me to show her a picture of my efforts when I'd finished it. Next time I had to confess that I'd been too busy with our Ukrainians to try. On my way out, some other nice Waitrose lady stopped me and gave me a giant box of shortbread for the Ukrainian kids. They were so chuffed when I explained - not because of the shortbread (though they liked it) but because when you're a refugee everything is a bit terrifying and to hear that a random English shop has dished out some biccies to you makes you feel that you've landed somewhere that is quite warm and friendly.
