I’m maybe in the minority, and I accept I’m usually wrong…
But I don’t see Todd as a player that will leave here and take off and become a PL star. However, this is coming from the same person that thought Pritchard and lewis would do very well.
In my mind, cantwell has got where he is off the back of very hard work and determination combined with some impressive skill. However, I think he’s more of a josh Murphy standard than buendia and Maddison (players he I guess aspires to follow to the top). When I say murphy, what I mean is a bit of a one trick pony; Murphy is fast, but that’s the only bit of his game that makes him a potential pl player, cantwell is skilful, but not sure his other attributes (physical, pace, vision, the last one being the biggest one) are at the level required. I don’t think vision is one you can teach.
For that reason, I don’t think he’ll ever be the primary source of creativity in a team, and if he’s not that, what’s his role going to be?
As I said, I’m more or less always wrong so happy to accept others might disagree with this and be proved right! I’d be quite happy for Todd to go on and hit heights he never could with norwich, I just don’t see it.
