For me its about the incremental steps forward...

We may yoyo for a few years but if that slowly takes us forward in terms of the quality of player we can buy then surely thats progression, we may not be top 17 NOW but in the next 3-5 years maybe we will be and relatively stabe in that position. And as USC says nothing wrong with top 26...good years and bad years! Mid table medocrity in the PL is watching big athletes play passable efficient football and winning nothing.
