Yes, me. And I'm desperate to get travelling again

but even though I've been vaccinated, as have all those who'd travel with me, the risk is you bring back a new variant. There's no data on how the AZ, Pfizer or Moderna vaccines respond to the double-mutation variant (B.1.617) currently running through India, for example, either in terms of protecting against infection or protecting against serious disease once infected (if it does the latter, who cares about the former, really; but does it do the latter? We just don't know yet).

It really is a case of we're not safe until we're all safe.

All of which said I agree with those saying covid is never going away and it's something we're going to have to learn to live with, at some ongoing mortality rate or other, just like the flu. We've lost enough "real life" already and I am just desperate to be able to see people and go places again. I had a cup of coffee this afternoon sitting outside (the coffee shop just over Fye Bridge from the Ribs, lovely coffee there as well) in just my T-shirt (and some trousers!) - a perfectly normal thing which felt like a real treat as it's been so long. Ditto a pint in an actual pub garden.

If it's a choice of continue to open this country up, but retain restrictions on international travel for another six months or even another year; versus allowing international travel but risking further full - or at least fuller - lockdowns, honestly I think we have to go for the former not the latter.

Just my view though, and I can certainly see arguments the other way.
