Whilst I agree, I believe there should be some compassionate flexibility.

Annie's dad lives in a very rural part of France, he's 83 and the last time he saw anyone was when we managed to get out last August. He's a right anti social bastard and in 15 years he's managed to avoid integrating in any way. The only English speaking people in the nearby village are the fish and chip vendors and the tobac, his favorite pursuits.

One day he's going to get ill and we probably won't find out until it's too late. The airport is tiny and I can rent a car without speaking to anyone. I'm sure there would be more danger of us taking Covid out than bringing it back. But I'm not a scientist.
