...which is why I think EPL just needs to kick them out. Straight away, honestly, promote top five from each tier up a level with playoffs from 6-9 for the last spot (yes, that does mean our friends down the road get a go - they'll lose though so it doesn't matter). There would be a couple of years, erm, readjustment to new financial realities but then it's done. As opposed to trying to keep them on board, them sucking the money out anyway and the boil is never lanced.

I agree with Biggles that it's totally unfair on the fans of the six. But I don't think there are any good outcomes from here; it's a question of choosing least worst for football as a whole and cracking on with it, accepting there will inevitably be some short term pain for a few years as money readjusts.
