my first ever sgts' mess do the mc stood up clicked on the mic and went through his spiel and said "....and now we come to the main event of the evening, the christmas grand prize draw. the first prize this year is a trip out to new york on concorde for a weekend break at a luxury hotel followed up by a cruise back to the uk on the QE2".
oooooh this is very exciting! methinks, a hush descended on the room and he got the RSMs wife to draw the first ticket out and she announced the winner who leapt up in the air fistpumps going full tilt and went up to get his prize, his missus got so excited she got up on her chair and started dancing with happiness. he opens the golden envelope thinking the tickets and whatknot would be in there, turns out they'd won an electric toothbrush. still f**king cracks me up to this day.
