If that's right, we do need to start to find someway of living that strikes the right balance of risk.

I don't think the thrust of this article is that it's "just flu". The point is that if we can't eliminate the risk of COVID 19 altogether, and the reality is that we can't, we need to keep it at a level of risk that is acceptable when compared to other risks that we also accept.

That's going to require significant change to how we live our lives, but it doesn't mean staying in total lockdown.
