Roeder's last match felt like an empty stadium

I regularly watch cricket in a ground where social distancing is no problem - I am rarely within 10 yards of anyone else during the day. Several of us on here would happily watch a test match with a tiny crowd on TV (New Zealand v England, for example). Some I am sure attend lower level football watched by two men and a dog.

I do not favour resuming until it is safe for the participants, including everyone needed to run the stadium and so on. Beyond that playing behind closed doors, it is probably something that will work for some and not others if it is only for a few weeks - many of us watch preseason or youth team streams with no atmosphere.

If we want to still have football and other cultural institutions when we get back to some version of normality, those institutions need to plan now how to survive and return just as other organisations like the big company I work for are.
