Prorogation is different as it closes down everything not jsut the commons.
Under recess bills passed by the commons could still go the the Lords and get passed in to Law.
Those bills are now dead thanks to Prorogation.

Secondly, recess is voted on in Parliament, a number of MP's had said they'd vote against it so there is no guarantee that would have happened.

Thirdly no commons means no scrutiny so, for example, when Johnson decides to start using youGov for Data Mining, there's no one to stop him.

This three days line is bollocks.
