When people say he's a nice man

is it just because he's incredibly dull so there's nothing to really take offence at? He reminds me of the Spitting Image John Major. Whereas Roeder clearly was horrid.
I can't like him because that (non)personality was used to excuse absolutely abysmally dull football.
