I don’t think you hear or see some of the stuff that goes on.

I’ve heard plenty of people in the stands criticising. Not when we’ve been doing well so much, but yes, even then. I’ve heard people in the Barclay shouting to get rid of the Germans because “we won the war” (yes I have - league cup game at the beginning of the season). I’ve witnessed a large number of people chant “what the f**king hell was that?” at Murphy a couple of seasons ago when he hit a poor shot. There's absolutely no way that players would not notice that kind of crap, and as someone who works in a profession where people with little knowledge seem to feel entitled to their opinions on how best to do my job, I can tell you that it isn’t always water off a duck’s back.

It just isn’t that simple and yes, I do think some people have had way too much internet.
