Those are all points which I can understand. A couple of questions though...

As far as traditional industries go, it’s not just towns like KL that have suffered. Norwich and many other larger cities had household names guaranteeing employment - NU, Rowntree, various shoe makers, Boulton and Paul and so on. No longer. That’s the inevitable march of technology and society, of which the EU and our ‘government’ are not the cause. Global capitalism, on the other hand...

My other question (and this one concerns me a lot) is: why aren’t local people taking the jobs you mention? I’ve got numerous theories, but that’s all they are, and only based on my own experience of working in underprivileged schools in deprived areas.
