However they can;t both get those totals as they play each other. If Shef U beat Leeds then best Leeds can get is 100. If leeds beat Shef U then best Shef U can get is 97.

But worst case scenario is bith get 100 points which means we would need 101 to guarantee promotion which = means 35 points from 12 games which is actually not possible as 11 wins and a draw gives us 34.

So it is correct to say that to guarantee promotion we still need to win every game.

Unless I am getting this completely wrong!
