Can't you just send them along to the East Wing while you stay in the West Wing?

So glad we don't have those stresses in our family. Hope you can sort it and you will have a lovely Christmas.

Funnily enough my mum and dad were both part of the war generation. My mum couldn't have been more pro Europe. Dad was less so but it was the Japanese he couldn't forgive. (He was in the navy and it was his ship that picked up the first survivors of some of the Japanese prisoner of war camps, an experience he never forgot). He gave me a really hard time for buying a Nissan micra, even though it had been made in Sunderland.

One year my parents hosted a young Japanese exchange student who stayed with them for a week. We'd worried a bit about how dad would react but we needn't have. They became really good friends. It would be nice if life was always that easy wouldn't it? x
