My father and my father in law have arrived at McGit Towers. They have already agreed with each other what splendid chaps Boris and Jacob RM are, and how a hard exit would be by far the best thing for the country in the long run.

Do I (a) smile tolerantly - it’s Christmas, it’s a generational thing, and after all their view of Europe was shaped by WW2; (b) smile grimly, pour them another glass of fizz and change the subject; (c) sod Christmas and have a furious argument; or (d) kill them, and if so in which order?
