Of course, no consideration that two thirds of those accidents could be caused by cyclists - you know, the ones who ignore traffic lights, push up into lorry blind spots, wear headsets so can't hear warnings, etc. etc.

Having just spent 3 years in Bristol, which is jam packed with lycra loons universally hated by motorists, I can see there is another side to this story.

For really safer, accountable road users ALL should be licensed and insured.
