why 'ffs'?
It's obvious why they need logos and tbf it's obvious why a lead agency would want to make sure that their logo is the one that is prominent and visible. The writer is being slightly disingenuous there.
(he is also incorrect on "Britain hasn’t had to intervene with our military in Africa since Sierra Leone" as our very own Anglians have been in Mali, and there was that not-insignificant intervention in Libya, and after all choosing not to get involved in Africa is very different to not needing to...)
