It's what UK Indian restaurants and take-aways do.................. ....

Put in a pan a load of whole peeled onions plus a bit of white cabbage, carrot, coriander stalks etc. top with water and boil it all for about an hour until it all falls to bits. Let it cool then blend it up. That's the base that Indian restaurants use for nearly all of their curries.

Then when you go to make a curry you cook the spices etc. depending upon the type of curry. Then you add a ladle of the curry base sauce.

Oh and curry restaurants also pre-boil chicken etc. then add that to a curry.
