An interesting piece, and it highlights issues in greater society rather than just footbal

We live in such an immediate society, where if it isnt brilliant it is dreadful, for there can be no middle ground, there is only black and white. Everyone is seemingly outraged about everything.

The hard thing is that wherever emotions are hightened then it is easy to get caught up in being so reactionary. I and probably other fans have at time felt like pushing the panic button as you leave a game where we look so toothless and weak.

Managers are sacked after 4 or 5 games these days, whereas in the past they would be given a year or two to make progress.

We do need to show more patience, but I do understand fans that get caught in the emotion.
