My argument is that as long as a vigourous selection system is put in place where by successful candidates are proven to be more than capable to do the job they're applied for then whats the problem?

Your argument is that they have lowered the required standard to do that particular role.

The original post was about girls applying to join the Royal Air Force Regiment as a Gunner. I have no problem with women joining the RAF Reg (i'm entitled to call them 'Rock Apes' being a 'Guin Techie' myself!) as long as they can do the job.
