David Phillips... great player great guy

Saw my hero DPs name on that list what a player and left NCFC too soon imho. His name brought back some memories. When i lived in Nottingham in '94 I wrote to stan collymore who played for forest at the time to come to the youth club i ran for disadvantaged kids. He wrote back to my utter surprise (i still have his letter) and said he would after his holiday. Weeks went by but no visit. So I went to the city ground armed with his letter and waited for him to arrive in his green bmw. When he did I spoke to him and he denied everything so i waved his letter in his face (great memories) He walked away and never came to the youth club. Arrogant footballer arrogant man. But as I walked back to the car Dave phillips and neil webb both arrived and both spoke to me i couldnt believe my hero DP was talking to me. Like an awe struck little girl my words sort of came out about SC and said you wont get anything from him..and used a few choice words about SC. But Dave ..what a nice guy..very chatty, very pleasant not up himself like SC and wanted to come to the youth club but lived in Coventry at the time so couldn't. Each time hes on sky these memories come flooding back. Great player greater man
