Depends

I've been commuting on and off for the best part of thirty years and it gets harder each year. The thing that you get all the time from your London based colleagues is 'oh only 1h30 - it takes me that long on the tube really.' It doesn't and it misses the fact that you have to get the right train or your commute doubles in length.

I'd say it improves if your office is walking Distance from the mainline station and if you can leave at a reasonable hour - most of my commuting life I've spent about two waking hours in my house.

But you do get to read a lot. And I'm only doing it for six more weeks so yah boo sucks to great northern.
