I don't think anyone's necessarily expecting them to be world beaters straight off the bat

But there's no (real) football at the moment, so there's little else to talk about other than signings and pre-season performances.

Signings are more interesting to me than pre-season fitness exercises against cloggy (no pun intended) opposition because of the unknown quantity of it all!
