I wouldn't call £3m+ a small investment either...

Bargain isn't really a word to associate to a signing for that kind of money, given our reported financial position.

I would class it as a significant investment which we should have a decent likelihood for a good outcome from (whilst accepting there are no guarantees), so it has piqued my interest...

Of course, it could all be bollocks (which would seem to be a more legitimate reason to have a nonplussed attitude towards it)...
