Or Hampton Court Palace have a specialist team. Most big National Trust places will have a deficated conservation team, if there's one near you it might be worth trying that route - particularly the latter as they might have a conservation team volunteer who'd be able to spare you some time to help.

Deffo try the fashion museum as they were helpful to my wife when she was restoring a vintage wedding dress. and apologies if this is all stating the obvious...
