anyone know about repairing antique clothing, specifically a "Mailland mold/form/shape"?

Mailland might be misspelt since I'm looking at a transcript of an interview.

This woman says she uses a Mailland 'mould' to repair holes in antique museum-quality fabric, which is a kind of "inert mica"

Can't find anything on the internet to shed any light on it though
