There isn't really any great issue with this 'settling the divorce bill' bollocks. It's money we agreed to pay and a good chunk of it will be going to projects/sources that we will still be benefitting from. It should be a relatively straight forward accounting led exercise in divvying up what still needs funding and what can be funded by the UK in its capacity as sovereign state (eg CAP payments to our farmers) and what can be funded by the EU (with UK contributions) as legacy projects, eg research grants. Agree the bill and crack on with the trade deal.

But the more that the press build up an Anti-EU hysteria, the harder it is to apply common sense and so the worse the end deal will be (as we will run out of time).
