It is not possible for the number of renewals to go up, if some people do not renew

I appreciate Stone was spinning by using language that could be interpreted as meaning more people had renewed very early by 3rd Feb (although as DD people had until 11th Feb he couldn't know how many would cancel or renew) but he then went on to say they expect to again hit their 22,000 cap of season tickets and have a waiting list of 1,200.

He was trying to pressure people into renewing but the fact is renewals will not be up from last year, indeed they never actually can be up from the previous year so its a bit of a pointless argument. Its interesting that despite his confidence they would have 19,000 confirmed renewals by 11th Feb no figures have been released.
