No it is not a nonsense. If even 1 person has not renewed then

renewals cannot be up, they must by definition be down. Whether that person gets replaced by someone on the waiting list after the seats are released for new sales is a different matter but renewals cannot be up if I know 10 people who have not renewed and have already cancelled. Fact.
