say it's a labrador so 10-14 years on average so let's say 12 years. pooch insurance for arguments sake is £20 a month x 12 x 12 = £3,280 instead of saving it up each month just to be safe get down coral in advance and lump it on a decent gee gee at 10-1 that way if the Dog does get ill you'll have plenty of money to buy another one.
