I think we all have a right to expect the club to act shrewdly and sensibly and perform due diligence but we have to remember that there always a chance that things won't work, for one reason or another.

I don't know if it's yet more evolution of the modern football fan, that expects most signings to come off as gold r if it's something else. I'd say we've signed far more crap in the past than we have recently, only the sums of money are greater.
