Our formation can't become 4-3-3
We don't have three midfielders.
It's currently two midfielders, three inside forwards and one striker.
If we're going to play 4-3-3. We need three in the middle (any combination of Tettey, Howson, Dorrans, Mulumbu, Thompson) and either Jerome plus two inside forwards (Naismith, Brady?) or two strikers with one behind (Wes).
That would be my preference... more protection for the defence but plenty of options going forward. More narrow midfield (can also switch to a diamond) allows full backs to bomb with protection behind.
One striker:
Ruddy
Pinto Klose Bennett Olsson
Howson Thompson Tettey
Naismith Jerome Jacob
Then as a diamond...
Ruddy
Pinto Klose Bennett Olsson
Thompson
Howson Tettey
Wes/Jacob
Naismith Jerome
Two strikers:
Ruddy
Pinto Klose Bennett Olsson
Howson Thompson Mulumbu
Wes
Jerome Oliveira
and just drop Thompson back for the diamond.
I'll apply in the morning.
