indeed, another problem is that some teams

get off to a flyer and stay up impressively - like Swansea or even Watford this season. But they are the exceptions and are usually based on luck or long-term planning. We can't expect that in our position, we really have to grind out points, establish ourselves and then attract the players needed to take us to the next level.

I think Hughton was doing it gradually, but was badly set back by the strikers not performing - that meant that we basically had a year of stagnation.
