Give your profession I don't need to warn you about using a sterile needle if you decide to.

If you've just started again after a long layoff it could simply be the skin getting used to it - try Vaseline or that second skin tape (never used it, a mate swears by it though). If it persists though think about shoes, or get your gait analysed (places trying to sell you posh shoes will do this free). Given where it is it's probably not a heel spur (those are buggers) or a hammertoe and if it was a bunion you'd spot it.

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, just an old, fat bloke who runs to try and be a little less fat than would otherwise be the case. The whole notion of eating or drinking less is clearly a non-starter in my case so exercise is all I have.
