30 years ago (roughly) ....

I was at Wembley when Dave Watson climbed the famous steps and lifted the cup for Norwich. Now, roughly 30 years on, I'm going back hoorah! Although much has changed, not least the stadium, but this time I'll be going there with my son who is roughly the same age as I was last time Norwich went there. There are of course some parrallels, not least the oh so sweet semi-final route and the opposition will be in red and from The North-East. I will tell my son; take it all in mate, soak it up, drink it in, enjoy the whole day because it is these days that we live for as fans. It is these days that we dream about. It is these days that can erase the despair and dissappointment of relegations gone by, countless no-shows in the FA Cup and long away trips with nothing to cheer just another drubbing at the Etihad or an away defeat at Tranmere, they hurt in equal measure.

To those that also haven't been before, then enjoy every moment because it will be so special and it may well not happen for another thirty years. This, is the stuff of legend. Be part of it. Get to your seats early and take in the build-up and ramp up the atmosphere. Let's turn our half of Wembley yellow, take a flag, hell take two flags and scarves and hats and curly wigs and replica shirts and torn up yellow pages and streamers and let us build a yellow wall and get behind our lads. Sing your hearts out for the whole game. Don't stop singing. Do. not. stop.

And if they score, then puff your chests out and hold your head up all the more and let out the most almighty OTBC to show our boys that we still believe. Together we will triumph.

This is our club, our team, our day.

..........COME ON CITY

*and take a big f**kern yella flag ffs
