You are asked to come to assist Neil Adams at Norwich who is on the brink of the sack. You've been applying for managers jobs elsewhere. You've just left the most successful club in the country over the last decade where you were assistant manager.

Surely if you are Phelan you try and get it agreed you will be given a chance to prove yourself for the top job if Adams goes soon?
